At Heron Foods we’ve made it our business to help our customers buy big name bargains for less, for nearly forty years. Our customers constantly tell us how much they love our fantastic range of chilled foods, frozen foods and grocery products at prices none of our competitors can match.
With 340+ locations throughout England our stores are bright and attractive places to shop. Our staff are always on hand to help track down any one of the hundreds of bargains in-store. We have one of the fastest changing ranges of discounted foods of any store in the UK.
Heron Foods was established in Hull in 1979 and year on year increased it’s network of stores throughout the UK.
In February 2003 the Company changed hands, but remained a family business until in September 2017 it was brought by B&M Stores
We now trade from 340+ stores, employ over 6000 people and are constantly striving to expand and spread our message of quality and value throughout the country.
In 2009 we moved away from our ageing cold store and warehouse operation in West Hull to a purpose built facility measuring 270,000 square feet at Melton in East Yorkshire, just to the West of Hull, which has been designed to enable the Company to continue with its ambitious growth plans

At the heart of the community
We seek to put something back into the communities where we operate. We help regenerate high streets, we create jobs and we provide outstanding customer service. We give generous support to a range of charities that help the socially disadvantaged and community-focused good causes.
We trade under both the Heron Foods and B&M Express banners although the formats are identical.
Each store will employ up to 15 new colleagues and our ideal is for our new starters to come from the community that they are to serve.
Our network of stores runs from Newcastle to Cardiff, Blackpool to Luton and we aim to open up to 30 new stores each year.
Our stores can be found on Busy Town or City Centre High Streets to Community Hubs and District Parades.
