I joined Heron Foods in January 1994 as a full-time Stores Person (Stock Lad). I was 18 years old when I joined and within 7 months I was promoted to Senior Sales Assistant (Supervisor). That was the start of many promotions and my progression within the business.

By April 1996 I was promoted to Deputy Manager, then Store Manager in 2001.

In May 2005 I moved to a higher turnover store. My hard work paid off and we became the number one turnover store in the company.

In May 2007, I was given the opportunity to develop further and was promoted to Area Manager. My progression didn’t stop there! In September 2014, I was promoted to Senior Area Manager.

The business has supported me in many ways and I have attended numerous training and development programmes. The most recent being a Management Development Programme for the Retail Management team.

The business is growing rapidly which will provide further opportunities for me to develop and progress. Who knows what my next role might be…
