Heron Foods, the company behind the B&M Express store chain has today announced that they’ll be opening a brand new store in the Stockport suburb of Brinnington at 9am on Friday, 29th November 2019.
The store will be a welcome boost to the local community with 17 jobs created in both full- and part-time roles. Situated on the site of a disused Church which is accessible by car, there will be ample parking spaces available.
Store manager, Darren Kemp, who has worked at Heron Foods’ Edgeley store for over eight years, said:
We’re sorry for any inconvenience the delay in opening has caused the local community. I’d like to thank residents for their patience and colleagues for their preparation work. I think the store will give the area a huge boost. We can’t wait to open the doors on Friday, 29th November.
As well as the ‘Top Quality, Lowest Prices’ food and drinks range, the store will also stock alcohol from opening day, a health and beauty collection and pet products. B&M Express - Brinnington will be open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm.
The rector for the Stockport and Brinnington Church of England Parish will be officially opening the store on opening day. Heron Foods will be giving £250 as a thank you for helping open the store and welcoming the store to the community. The money will go towards the running of the community centre which provides drop-in, classes and café facilities for the local community.
The Rector of Stockport and Brinnington, The Reverend Lynne Cullens, said:
I’m delighted to have been invited by Heron Foods to open the B&M Express store in Brinnington. Like our church, this store sits at the heart of the community, and we very much look forward to working together into the future to serve those who live and work here.
Caroline Simpson, Corporate Director for Place at Stockport Council, said:
Heron Foods’ new B&M Express store is a welcome addition to Brinnington, and supports the other regeneration initiatives in the area like the new leisure centre and family housing. This new shop will really improve the local retail offer for residents, as well as creating 17 new jobs.
Heron Foods is the latest in a number of new openings in Stockport and we are pleased to welcome more investment to create jobs and opportunities for local people.
