Heron Foods, the discount grocery store chain has today announced that they’ll be opening a brand new store on Chester Road in Houghton-le-Spring at 9am on Thursday, 12 December 2019.
The ‘Shiney Row’ store, which moves into the former library building, will be a boost to the local community with 16 jobs created in both full- and part-time roles.
Store manager, Matthew Feather, who has worked as store manager at the Roseworth store for four years, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching the store in this area and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors.
Shiney Row will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people the best choice of goods at exceptionally low prices. I’d personally like to thank colleagues for their efforts as well as our new neighbours who have already shown support.
In addition to ‘Top Quality, Low Prices’ on a huge food and drinks range, the store will have its own indoor cash machine and will stock household, health & beauty and pet products.
Heron Foods – Shiney Row will be open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm. The store has a number of free car parking spaces available near the store.
Shiney Advice and Resource Project (ShARP), will be on hand to help open the store on 12 December and will be given £250 as a thank you from Heron Foods for welcoming the store to the community. ShARP is a local advice and support agency, providing employment, finance and welfare services for the local area.
