Help Recognise Your Leeds Heroes!

Bring your Leeds heroes to life! We’re opening a new store in Burmantofts in Leeds in August and to mark the occasion we want your help to bring an exciting community art project to life at the new store.

We want you to submit your own artwork on a ‘Leeds hero’ of your choice. We’ll then compile a mural design made up of the artwork which will be shown on the side of the new store. Your Leeds hero could be someone famous from Leeds, maybe an unsung hero (or even a selfie!) The choice is yours!

The mural will be displayed at the store for years to come and will become part of the fabric of the area. The chosen designs in the mural will serve as a long term reminder of the rich history that Burmantofts and the wider Leeds area has and if your artwork is chosen, all the participants will have their names featured in the mural.

Submissions can be in the form of drawings, paintings, photographs, collages or any other 2D art form. Unfortunately we can’t accept 3D models.

Winners will be chosen from one of three age categories - under 5s, under 11s and 11+ years.

To take part, submit your artwork to: enquiries@deswork.com or post to: Burmantofts Art, Design Workshop, Unit 1, Priory Tec Park, Saxon Way, Hessle, HU13 9PB. The closing date for submissions is Friday 25th August 2017.

Please include the artist’s (and, if under 18, their parent or guardian’s) contact details including; name, school/college/group, artist’s age, telephone number and email address.

All submissions received will be entered into a draw to win a £25 Love2Shop voucher. Winners will be chosen by a Heron Foods judging panel and the mural will be unveiled at the official store opening event.

We’re sorry, but we’re unable to return your artwork.
